WAXING AFTERCARE

  • Avoid Heat and Sun Exposure

Refrain from activities that could increase skin temperature or expose the treated area to direct sunlight for at least 24 hours post-waxing. Heat and UV rays can irritate the skin and cause sensitivity, redness, or even burns.

  • Skip Hot Baths and Showers

Opt for lukewarm water when showering or bathing after waxing. Hot water can exacerbate skin sensitivity and potentially cause irritation or inflammation. Also, avoid soaking in hot tubs or pools during this time.

  • Be Gentle with the Skin

Treat the waxed area with care and avoid friction or rubbing. Refrain from exfoliating the treated area for at least 24 to 48 hours, as this could aggravate the skin and lead to irritation or ingrown hairs.

  • Moisturize Regularly

Keep the skin hydrated by applying a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer or post-waxing lotion to the treated area daily. Moisturizing helps soothe the skin, prevent dryness, and maintain its natural barrier function.

  • Avoid Tight Clothing

Opt for loose-fitting clothing to avoid friction and irritation against the waxed skin. Tight clothing can exacerbate sensitivity and discomfort, especially immediately after waxing.

  • Say No to Sunbathing and Tanning Beds

Refrain from sunbathing or using tanning beds for at least 24 to 48 hours after waxing. UV exposure can increase the risk of sunburn and skin damage, particularly on freshly waxed skin.

  • Avoid Perfumed Products

Steer clear of perfumed products, harsh chemicals, or exfoliating agents on the waxed area. These can irritate the skin and disrupt the delicate balance of the skin barrier, leading to potential complications.

  • Hands Off!

Refrain from touching or picking at the waxed area to prevent introducing bacteria and causing infection. Keep hands clean and avoid scratching or rubbing the skin unnecessarily.

  • Schedule Regular Waxing Appointments

To maintain smooth, hair-free skin, adhere to a regular waxing schedule recommended by your esthetician. Consistent waxing sessions help weaken hair follicles over time, resulting in finer regrowth and longer-lasting results.

  • Attend to Ingrown Hairs

If you experience ingrown hairs, gently exfoliate the affected area using a soft brush or exfoliating scrub. Avoid harsh scrubbing, which can further irritate the skin, and consider using products specifically formulated to prevent ingrown hairs.
